Okay, so there's a rather cool story behind this photo: Few months ago, me and my dad were birdwatching at Porkkala. While walking in a forest, we got separated. I didn't really mind since I know the place pretty well. After a while I stopped to change my camera settings and when I lifted my head, I saw a stunning white-tailed deer stag standing about 12 m. away from me, staring right into my eyes.
My first thought was that he's gonna instantly sprint away, but guess what happened? The stag actually started to slowly and majestically walk towards me, until it stood only about 5 m. away from me. I was stunned, my mouth hanging open, trying to take as many photos as fast as possible. I was thinking feverishly "why isn't he running away?" I'm no animal expert but to me, he didn't look frightened or aggressive, only slightly curious. The stag just kept staring at me, moving it's ears and tilting its head from side to side.
The staring competition lasted about 2 minutes and then the stag just turned left and continued his morning walk. After he was another 10 m. away, he stopped, turned to stare at me one last time, then disappeared to the forest.
This wasn't some tame city deer, this was a wild animal, in a nature reserve area, which made the experience so special, at least for me.
EDIT: aaaaaaaaa thank you so much to everyone for all the favs!!
